Block all pop-ups, even thepiratebay.org, in Google Chrome using AdBlock

The objective can be achieved simply by using 3 Firefox Add-ons:
1. Adblock Plus
2. Adblock Plus Pop-up Addon
3. Element Hiding Helper for Adblock Plus

Enjoy your ad-free (at least to some extent) life.

Here's how to do it:

• Install AdBlock extension in Google Chrome.

• Go to AdBlock options and make sure you have ad filters enabled. 

• For added protection you can also subscribe to Fanboy's AdBlock Filters. Clicking on "Add Fanboy Adblock list to Firefox" works also in Chrome.

• Now, go to the website in question and wait for the pop-up. Sometimes a pop-up is triggered by some action on the website, such as- clicking on certain area.

• Assuming the dreaded pop-up is looking you in the face, copy the web address (URL) from the pop-up.

• Go to AdBlock options > Customize tab > Block an ad by its URL

• Paste the pop-up's URL in the appropriate field. Click the "Block It" button.

That should do it. Enjoy your pop-up-free website.
