Toggle hidden file and name extensions visibility via hotkey with HiFiTo:
There are many hidden files on your system, and for the most part it is very good that that is the case; it keeps your folders tidy and clean looking, and keeps many files (somewhat) protected, that needn’t be played with. But for those times when you need to see the hidden files (or when these files are your own), HiFiTo is a small, free program the makes hidden files instantly appear or disappear by the use of a keyboard shortcut or via a system tray icon.
HiFiTo can also toggle file extension visibility in the same way.
How it works: run the portable app, then use the default hotkeys CTRL+ALT+H to hide/unhide files, and CTRL+ALT+E to toggle file extensions on and off. (You can customize the default keyboard shortcuts in the settings). A balloon tooltip will appear that shows you what the

The verdict: if you find yourself manually switching hidden files and/or filename extensions on and off, or if you’re simply a supergeek that likes to have this sort of control, then this nice little program comes in handy.
