Here is a quick tutorial that shows how to add HTML to GMail. Adding HTML to Gmail will save your time if you do a lot of mailing. Signatures at the end of mails though short but do consume time. Specially if you want to include your contact information. Adding HTML will ensure that the signature is automatically included at the end of the message. You can insert your name, contact information, location, rich text to your Gmail to make it look better.

How to have HTML as Gmail signature. There is a very easy way to do this, by using Firefox add-ons. There are two add-ons you can use Blank Canvas and WiseStamp. They both can generate HTML signatures.

Adding HTML with Blank Canvas:

Step 1: From the Mozilla add-on directory install the add-on or click here.

Step 2: Then compose a new mail in your Gmail account. You will notice beside the “Discard” an option to generate or insert HTML signature. You can click on create signature.

Step 3: You will have to add the HTML code for the signature. So if you are not familiar with HTML, click on the Tutorial link. It has very simple and straight forward instructions.

Step 4: Preview and Save your signature as Business, Personal or friends and use it every time you compose a new mail.

Adding HTML with WiseStamp:

Step 1: From the Mozilla add-on directory install the add-on or click here.

Step 2: Once you install the add-on, firefox will ask you to restart your browser.

Step 3: When you restart your browser, a pop up window comes up asking you to create a signature. If the pop up window does not show up then you can go to addons> Extensions>Wisestamp> Options.

Step 4: Preview and click ok when you are done.

Step 5: Next time you compose a email in your Gmail account you will see the signature in there automatically. You also have the option to remove this signature if you do not want it with any particular email.

Which is better Blank Canvas or WiseStamp:

If you have a good knowledge of HTML, then Blank Canvas is the perfect tool for you. Because with Blank Canvas you do have to write the actual HTML code to create a signature.

But if you are more of a social person, then WiseStamp is well suited for you. If you want to have the popular networking icons in your signature so everyone can follow you or if you are not familiar with HTML code then WiseStamp will be a great option for you. One thing to keep in mind is that, WiseStamp inserts an advertisement with your signature. However it can be disabled from preferences>settings. WiseStamp also works with Yahoomail, Hotmail, AOL apart from Gmail.
